Bo Wiget was born
1971 in Wattwil, Switzerland. After classical cello training his interst
in rock music, jazz and above all improvised music begins in 1990, and he concerns
himself auto didactically with composition. At the same time also his
interest in stage art strengthens.
Since 1997 exists the project Archetti/Wiget with guitarist, electronic musician and visual artist Luigi Archetti,
with whom he has published two CDs on the renowned Norwegian label Rune Grammofon
(Low Tide Digitals and Low Tide Digitals II), and created severeal art related projects (video, installations, performances). The short movie "I have seen you dancing better than this" has been honored with the 2nd price for the German Music Video Award at Kurzfilmtage Oberhausen in 2007. Many concerts in over 10 countries worldwide.
Since 2004 Bo Wiget plays with Belgian cello player Simon Lenski. A first CD called "Die Vögelein schweigen im Walde" is out on radical duke.
Wiget plays concerts in clubs on festivals all over Europa and Japan. In
various projects Bo Wiget meets Tetuzi Akiyama, Iva Bittovà, Dominik Blum,
Christof Dienz, eavesdropper, Hubl Greiner, Paul Lemp, Werner Lüdi, Koichi Makigami, Lucas Niggli, Zeena Parkins, Marino Pliakas,
Massimo Pupillo, Hahn Rowe, Remo Signer, Taku Sugimoto, Atsushi Tsuyama,
Kazuhisa Uchihashi, Raphael Urweider, Christian Weber, Michael Wertmüller,
and many different musicians more.
2003/04 he is - as a live musician together with Paul Lemp - on European tour with the dance theatre
project "Visitors Only" from Meg Stuart/Damaged Goods.
2005/06 he participates
as musician and performer in the improvisation project "at the Table/Auf
den Tisch" in Brussels, Gent, Vienna and Salzburg with Meg Stuart, Antonija
Livingstone, Martin Nachbar, Benoit Lachambre, Vera Mantero, Emil Hrvatin, Erna Omarsdottir,
Frans Poelstra, Hooman Sharifi and others.
Bo Wiget composes regularly for most different dance -, theatre and performance
meetings, in which he participates every now and then also on stage. Among
others at Neumarkt Theater Zurich, Schauspielhaus Zurich, National Theatre
Mannheim, Staatsoper Berlin, Volksbühne Berlin. And he regularily collaborates with directors and choreographers/dancers Wolfram Apprich, André Becker, Heather Kravas, Antonija Livingstone, Andreas Müller, Anders Paulin, Meg Stuart a o
In 2007 he creates his first music/dance performance MASSARBEIT; shows in Zurich, Berlin, Paris...
2008 founding HAPPY SYSTEM, the merry company for the happy synthesis of the arts...
Bo Wiget plays a cello that was built by Martin Hillmann in 1999.
